I was born an only child to my beloved father when he was 43. He was just the very best father anyone could hope for. Strictly but with great kindness he guided me through my early years, teaching me so much, as I now realise. He was a most affectionate father, seeing no harm in being so, though he never spoilt me, a fear which he had because I was an only child and he didn't want a spoilt brat! Through his wisdom, he taught me so much about life, but also a love of music, literature and history. He taught me to be grateful for what I have. When I was paralysed in an accident, I think it nearly broke him. Then in November 2003, fed up with increasing blindness and deafness, he left a devastated wife and daughter, two grandchildren and a son-in-law. My beloved husband, his son-in-law, died very suddenly 15 days later, in the same hospital and same side room. Five years on, the memories of two of the thee greatest men in my life still fill me with pride, joy and the most awful pain and emptiness at having lost them both. I love you so much, now and always.

Just to thank you for all that you do.

for we had a special bond, my angel and me.
